The Mathematics of Teamwork
By Dr Sunil S Rana
I always remember a fascinating mathematics equation whenever the topic of teamwork comes up. Today, I want to share its deeper meaning with you all.
Imagine this:
A person named “A” contributes work equal to A² through his skills, capacity, and effort. Another person, “B”, contributes his share of work equal to B². Individually, both are doing commendable jobs within their own limits.
But something magical happens when A² and B² come together.
Their combined force is not just the sum of individual efforts - it transforms into 2AB, a result much greater than the parts.
Mathematically, we say:
A² + B² = 2AB (in spirit, not in formula).
And that is the beauty of collective team spirit.
No matter how resourceful, skilled, intelligent, capable, or confident you are -alone, you can only reach so far. But when you join hands with others, align energies, and strengthen each other, the results are extraordinary.
It is teamwork that pays.
It is teamwork that multiplies results.
It is teamwork that makes the difference between good and excellent.
So always remember: a strong team is not just an addition of people, it is a multiplication of possibilities…
